From the download to the 3 AM live: the guide we wish we’d had on day one of Weverse.
Ever seen V suddenly start replying to ARMY on Weverse BTS and found yourself dying to be one of those lucky fans? Then, for starters, you have to be there. And take part.
The good news is that it’s simple. Once you’re in, you’ll start getting notifications, whether it’s a photo moment shared by the members, a new MV, a Run BTS episode, the marathon lives of Jung Kook, the game nights with Jin, or scheduled events, like that time we kept watch over j-hope’s beauty sleep during his nearly 12-hour (!) live.
How do you get all of this and much more? Through an app called Weverse.
If you’re not there yet, or you are but you only scroll the feed without really knowing what to do, come with me.

What Is Weverse BTS (and Why Is Everyone on It)?
Weverse is HYBE’s official fandom platform, launched in 2019.
Think of a living room where BTS and ARMY share the couch. That’s more or less it.
The BTS community opened on July 1 of that same year, back when we were hopping between fancafe, Twitter, and V LIVE so we wouldn’t miss anything.
Today everything lives in one place: posts from the members, lives, exclusive videos, announcements from BigHit Music, and the official shop. Weverse BTS works on your phone and in your browser (weverse.io), and an account is free.
Ah, V LIVE. Those of us who’ve been around remember it, and plenty of people miss it. HYBE took over the app in March 2022 and shut it all down on December 31 of that year. Since then, a BTS live means Weverse, period.
And how big is the Weverse BTS community? It has more than 30 million followers. When the group came back together in June 2025, the number of new sign-ups jumped more than 300% in a single month. Nobody could stand to miss out, right?
Latin America, by the way, was the region where Weverse grew the most in 2025, with 22% more users. ARMY there is loud, and the numbers show it.
How to Join Weverse BTS: Step by Step
Joining Weverse BTS takes five minutes, tops. I promise.
- Download Weverse from the App Store or Google Play (or go to weverse.io in your browser).
- Create your account with an email address or a social media login. If you sign up with email, confirm it through the link that arrives in your inbox.
- Search for BTS on the home screen and tap the group’s photo to open the Weverse BTS community.
- Tap Join Community and choose your nickname. Make it a good one, because it’s what shows up if a member stops by your post.
- Turn on notifications for the community. Without them, the live starts and you only find out through the Bangtan Now Telegram channel (okay, we’ll let you know, but the more people spreading the word about a live from SUGA or Jimin, which aren’t exactly common, the better, right?).
- Choose the language for automatic translation.
Now, a tip from someone who has watched plenty of people cry in the virtual queue: use the same email on Weverse that you use for your Ticketmaster account. For the ARIRANG tour presale, the two had to match exactly, and people with different emails couldn’t get into the queue. It hurts just to remember.
Weverse Shop, the official store, uses the same account. That’s where you buy albums, lightsticks, and the ARMY Membership and Digital Membership subscriptions (we’ll get to them in a minute).
A Quick Tour of the Weverse BTS Tabs
The community has five tabs:
- Artist is where they post.
- Fan is where we post.
- LIVE keeps the live streams and the recordings.
- Media has the official videos and photos.
- Notice is the announcements board.
And if you don’t speak Korean, relax: there’s automatic translation.
How to Watch BTS Lives on Weverse (Without Missing Any, or Almost)
Good news: lives are free. All you need is an account and to have joined the community.
- With notifications on, just tap the alert when one of them, or all seven, go live.
- Missed the alert? Open the Weverse BTS community and go to the LIVE tab. The stream that’s happening right now shows up at the top.
- Want to rewatch? Go back to the same tab after it ends. The recording stays saved.
During a live, the comments scroll by at a speed no human can follow. But you can (and should) send yours. If you’re not a Membership subscriber, it’s a good chance to practice your Korean or English. There are also the little hearts, which rain down on the member’s screen and are a nice way to show some love, plus you can drop a few clever emojis in the chat. ARMY is great at flooding a live with flags, fair warning.
Now, the time zone drama. Korea is 13 to 14 hours ahead of the US East Coast, depending on daylight saving time, so a 10 PM live in Seoul lands at 9 AM on the East Coast during daylight saving time (8 AM the rest of the year). JK had insomnia? The live will land right when you’re at work, so be patient. That’s exactly what the recording is for. It sits there waiting for you to get out of your meeting.
And there’s no shortage of lives, you know? In 2025 alone, Weverse artists did 6,558 broadcasts, which added up to more than 1 billion views. This year the volume has dropped a little, but no wonder! 2026 is the year of the ARIRANG Tour!
How to Talk to BTS on Weverse
I’ll be honest: there is no way to send a message through Weverse BTS and be sure they’ll read it.
What exist are doors. Some more open than others.
- Comments on their posts. They live in the Artist tab, and it’s the most competitive spot in the app. They read, and every now and then they reply right there.
- A post in the Fan tab. This is where they show up out of nowhere (right, Taehyung?), commenting on fan posts.
- Comments during a live. They tend to read a few out loud and answer on the spot. For example, RM interacts a lot, partly because he’s fluent in English, and SUGA, after purring for a few minutes while he carefully follows the messages, now and then drops a comment that goes viral on social media seconds later. They play video games, sing for us, eat, and share a bit of the life they lead.
- Fan Letter. A digital letter you write and decorate right in the app.
Weverse DM: Can You Send BTS a Private Message?
It’s a paid chat, using Jelly, the app’s virtual currency, that imitates a private conversation with the artist. But before you get your hopes up: BTS doesn’t usually have an active DM. That usually happens with other artists from smaller, newer groups at HYBE that use the app in their own communities. And even they usually write to the fans as a group, not to one person in particular.
How to Get Noticed by BTS on Weverse
Let’s do the math. There are more than 30 million people in the community and only seven faces on the other side. Seven people with a schedule so intense we can’t even imagine it: making music, touring the world, rehearsals, recording, and, I imagine, some desire to sleep.
Still, every now and then someone shows up in the feed with a framed screenshot: a comment from Jimin, a reply from RM, a “ㅋㅋㅋ” from Jin. It happens! And a few habits give luck a little push. Here are the tips:
Post, Don’t Just Comment
The members scroll through the fan feed and reply there. A post of yours stays visible much longer than a comment lost among thousands. It can be a post with a video, a photo, or just text. And, of course, if you write in Korean, the chance of being read is higher. Use Google Translate to help. English works too. RM is super fluent, but all of them can read short, simple texts in English. Of course, they also have automatic translation, just like us, but you can make things easier for them, right?
Catch the Golden Window
Right after one of them posts something or finishes a live, the chances that they still have the app open are much higher. That’s when replies tend to pop up. So the game plan is: notifications on, and be quick to post something good.
Less Letter, More Conversation
A short text works better than a three-paragraph essay. A simple question, a photo of your day, what you thought of the new song. Know a few words in Korean? Use them! Automatic translation handles the rest, but a “보라해” (borahae) written by you has a different charm.
Spam? Don’t Even Think About It
Repeating the same post, flooding the comments, or pasting the same message a thousand times breaks the community rules and can get your account suspended. The goal is to get noticed by BTS, not by moderation.
Shortcuts Are Scams, Always
A certain @jungkook8648 shows up out of nowhere wanting to chat with you, or some random profile promises “guaranteed contact” with the members? Scam. A site selling Membership or tickets outside the official channels? Scam too. During the 2026 tour sales, Weverse itself warned about fake pages and said it can’t help anyone who buys outside the platform.
Weverse BTS Free or Membership: Is It Worth Paying?
Spoiler: everything I’ve told you so far works on the free account.
The confusion starts because there are two subscriptions with almost identical names (hi, HYBE marketing, okay?) and very different functions. So let’s separate them properly.
Digital Membership: The Comfort Pack
It’s monthly and costs about US$ 2.49.
Digital Membership gives you:
- an exclusive badge
- access to subtitles in several languages
- automatic translation of your chat message into Korean
- subscriber-only content
- ad-free lives and videos
- downloads to watch offline
- notifications for the member you choose
- the option to create your own Listening Party
It has nothing to do with tickets, okay?
ARMY Membership: The Official Fan Club
This is the one many people search for as “BTS Weverse membership”. It’s annual, valid for 365 days, and bought in the Weverse Shop. There are three versions (US, Global, and Japan), and which one you need depends on where you plan to buy presale tickets. The Global version cost US$ 19.67 in January 2026.
After payment, a digital card with your number shows up in the app (it starts with BA followed by 9 digits). That number is what unlocks presales, as happened with the ARIRANG tour shows. There’s also a physical kit with collectible items.
Want to know everything about both subscriptions, what each one includes, and how to buy? We explain it all, step by step, in our ARMY Membership guide.
Frequently Asked Questions About Weverse BTS
How do I join Weverse BTS?
Download the Weverse app (or go to weverse.io), create your account with an email address or social media login, search for BTS, and tap Join Community. Then pick a nickname and turn on notifications. The full Weverse BTS step-by-step is higher up in this guide.
Is Weverse BTS free?
Yes. Creating an account, joining the Weverse BTS community, and watching lives costs nothing. Digital Membership and ARMY Membership are optional subscriptions with different functions. See the details in our BTS Membership guide.
How do I watch lives on Weverse BTS?
With notifications on, tap the alert when a member goes live. If you miss the alert, open the LIVE tab of the Weverse BTS community: the stream in progress shows up at the top, and the recording stays saved afterward.
Can you talk to the members on Weverse BTS?
There’s no guarantee they’ll read it, but there are ways: comment on posts in the Artist tab, post in the Fan tab, and comment during lives. Weverse DM is paid, and BTS doesn’t usually have an active DM in the Weverse BTS community.
What is the difference between Digital Membership and ARMY Membership on Weverse BTS?
Digital Membership is monthly and brings comfort perks, like ad-free lives. ARMY Membership is the official fan club, annual and bought in the Weverse Shop, and the number on the digital card unlocks ticket presales.
How do you get noticed on Weverse BTS?
There is no formula for getting noticed on Weverse BTS, but it helps to post in the Fan tab, write short messages, take advantage of the moment right after a post or a live from the members, and avoid spam. Automatic translation does the rest.
Now That You Know All About Weverse, Turn On Notifications and Enjoy!
Weverse BTS is your “living room with BTS.” Most of the good stuff there doesn’t require a paid subscription. There we watch lives without paying anything, chat with ARMYs from all over the world, send little letters on the members’ birthdays, and, of course, post sweet messages hoping that, someday, we’ll get a reply.
For those who’ve already been noticed, all it took was having an account, sending a short, sincere message, and keeping notifications on, plus a willingness to work all day with one eye on the spreadsheet and the other on Hobi sleeping, JK singing, Jin gaming, Yoon purring, Nam philosophizing, Jimin being a considerate prince, or Tae opening a live for less than 1 minute and nearly giving us a heart attack!
See you in the feed? 💜
And tell me in the comments: which BTS live will you never forget?
